This was among several shirts I ordered weightlifter/wrestler son for Christmas. I was hoping the hugging/draping effect of some well-shaped, lightweight knit sweaters would flatter his silhouette and give him a reason to wear something other than athletic workout clothes 24/7. (His girlfriend was very happy as he started opening all the boxes of surprise “date night clothes”…and this was both their favorites. They even stopped to admire this one for a while, and I was so glad there was a clear frontrunner he definitely wanted to try out—surely other moms of 18-year-olds can relate!)
I have been most impressed by Oxknit’s fit tool with the sliding scale built into each product page with measurement profiles unique to each separate product, by pattern/style/cut, so that you can determine how each shirt will fit and know when to buy a Large for a regular fit, or which needs an XL for a preferred tighter fit, etc., so that each separate item will custom fit the recipient perfectly as intended. I felt nervous the first time using this, so I had given him one shirt for his birthday (earlier in Dec) to give me time to return the others if I didn’t have faith in the variation of sizes I’d bought according to the tool’s recommendations. I gave him the one I was *least* certain about on his birthday—lo and behold, it fit beautifully!!—so then I felt totally confident about the others waiting to be opened under the tree later…

Love the colors and quality of this sweater but beware it does run small. I’m usually at size 10 but I went ahead and ordered the xl because I like it roomy and wanted to layer. Next time I’ll definitely order a 2xl.
